SNU College of Engineering Signs a Business Agreement
with the Korea Electric Power Corporation to
Discover Overseas Businesses and Support Education
 

- Seoul National University International Energy Policy Program's (IEPP) cooperation in the field of human exchange
- Exchange of information in the overseas energy sector and cooperation in discovering tasks for energy business projects

Seoul National University's College of Engineering (Dean Byoungho Lee) announced on Thursday, November 4, 2021, that a business agreement was signed in the SNU College of Engineering Dean's reception room for mutual cooperation in the field of educational support and discovery of overseas projects through operational cooperation between the Korea Electric Power Corporation and Seoul National University's International Energy Policy Program (IEPP).
 
The signing ceremony was attended by related university professors such as Byoungho Lee - Dean of the SNU College of Engineering, Jung-Ik Ha - Vice Executive President, as well as Hyun-bin Kim - Vice President of KEPCO's Management Support.
 
The agreement aims to expand the bridgehead for overseas business between Korea Electric Power Corporation and Energy Valley companies by utilizing the human network through the International Energy Policy Process (IEPP) promoted by Seoul National University and for the cooperation regarding the joint discovery of overseas projects.
 
The contents of the agreement include ▲ IEPP educational cooperation related to energy business and support for internships at Energy Valley companies ▲ Cooperation in discovering energy project tasks during IEPP student internships ▲ Cooperation for the uncovering of the IEPP-Energy Valley companies' matching energy business project task ▲ Support for development cooperation in response to cooperation in energy industrialization in developing countries ▲ Utilization of the IEPP human network to advance into energy-related businesses in developing countries ▲ Requests for overseas energy cooperation, information exchange and cooperation in the energy sector such as development plans.

 

 

Starting with this business agreement, Seoul National University's International Energy Policy Program (IEPP) students will participate in the 'BIXPO 2021' event held by KEPCO for 3 days and 2 nights from November 10 (Wed) to 12 (Fri) and will visit energy valley companies and attend corporate meetings to explore business demands of beneficiary countries.
 
In addition, they plan to maintain a continuous and practical cooperative relationship by actively promoting the implementation of internships for energy valley companies to plan ODA projects during the 2021 winter vacation.
 
Meanwhile, Seoul National University's International Energy Policy Course (IEPP) is a global energy policy expert training course sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by Seoul National University and is based on the technical management, economy, and policy (TEMEP) of the College of Engineering's cooperative course.
 
Since 2009, Seoul National University's International Energy Policy Program (IEPP) has been supporting the master's and doctoral programs for energy policy experts and has been building a global energy manpower belt for energy-related civil servants and employees of public institutions in foreign energy resource-rich countries and energy industry export destinations and is contributing to promoting government policies in the field of energy and resources to the international community and serving as a bridgehead for domestic energy and resource-related companies to enter overseas markets.
